In a nutshell:
Former star of a superhero franchise, Riggan Thomson, takes on a role on Broadway in an attempt to revitalize his otherwise lifeless career. Reality and fantasy mesh as we are taken through the lives of his costars, family, and fans and eventually, the premier of the show.
